*Part of the M1956 Load Carrying Equipment, These Straps Were Created to Support a Sleeping Bag From the M1956 Suspenders. Many Troops in Vietnam Did Not Use the Issue Sleeping Bag Due to the Tropical Climate, The Straps Then Were Used For a Variety of Improvised Purposes, A Strap Passed Over Each of the Wearer's Shoulders and Through the Web Keeper on the Suspender's Shoulder Pad. In Order to Stop the Bag From Swaying About, Two Adjustable Tie Down Straps are Passed Around the Sides of the Wearer and Attached to the Loops on the Suspender's Front Belt Hooks
